This week officers from the London South East Division will be retreating to Ashburnham Place, a Christian Retreat centre near Hastings/Battle, for a few days. Of course our captains will be there as well. After this they will be taking a weeks holiday. Sunday our meeting at 10.30am will be led by our Prayer Ministry Officers, Adam and Pat Hall
INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND
An important celebration was held this past weekend, as part of our 125th Anniversary. On Saturday we were pleased to welcome friends from the SA AFrican Network in the UK. Sadly the weather did not help in enabling people to meet, but we were still pleased to have the numbers that were able to share with us, with us.
Saturday started with a time of refreshments, chat and meeting, and then we enjoyed some time of prayer and worship. After this we shared a meal together, and this then led into an afternoon of praise and worship. Commissioners Amos and Rosemary Makina, International Secretary and Zonal Secretary for Women's Ministries in Africa, led this through. It was lovely to see so many different generations coming together to worship.
Featured throughout the weekend were our very own Nkomo and Akmeaoh family, which was wonderful, and for them it was great to have their International Secretary with them.

By Sunday the weather had developed and snow laid thick on the ground. The gathering at our morning meeting reflected that very few were able to get to share with us, and this affected our own musical contributions, although we were thrilled that REFLECTIONS were able to contribute. The Commissioners led the meeting, which included a reflection on the work of the African Zone and so encouraging to see how the Salvation Army is growing in those places. Songs included:- Since Jesus Came into my heart; Down at the Cross; To Thy Cross i come, Lord; Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me; I am praying blessed Saviour.
The commissioners and friends shared a meal at our centre, before we insisted they returned home safely, so the weather did not hold them back, thus we cancelled TOGETHER.
We are grateful to all those who were able to contribute to the weekend, and especially to Melusi Nkomo who arranged so much of it.
