Home League

Major Norman Piper, from the Salvation Army's Family Tracing Service visited our Home League Meeting this week, to share with us the workings of these services within the UK.

Sunday 20 March 2011

As part of our house group programme, which is slowly developing, we start a group this WEDNESDAY for the next few Wednesdays at the home of Les and Marion Daniels, from 7.30pm
A REMINDER that next Sunday is our bi-monthly SUNDAY FEAST, and opportunity to feast on food and fellowship. Our after dinner speaker this time will be our own Captain Susan who will  share a little of her story and how God has journeyed with her every step of the way. To book your meal, for a donation of £3 for adults and £2 children, contact the church office.
A number of our ladies were away this weekend at LIBERATE, a womens retreat within this division of The Salvation Army, married that together with sickness and holiday, we were not as full as recent weeks, but still welcoming a lovely number of people coming together for worship. Our prelude to worship today included a piece from our learners band, which was lovely to see how they are progressing. Captain Ian led the whole meeting, and songs today included:- I'm gonna jump up and down; When you feel weakest; Meet My Need Lord; Amazing Grace; Draw me close to You; I believe in Jesus; Only by Grace can we enter; Blessed Lord in You is Refuge. The captain took Hebrews 10 as his theme, looking at the call to persevere - and reminding people that when the going gets tough, instead of going (as per the song) but we need to get growing. We looked at the importance of Confidence in our relationship with God; with drawing near to God, holding onto Hope, encouragement and meeting together.
